SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Director of Total Rewards leads the design, implementation, and administration of AAFP’s compensation, health and retirement benefits, wellness and work-life programs. This role is responsible for developing strategies that attract, retain, and engage employees while ensuring programs remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives. This role partners closely with senior leaders and external vendors to manage compensation structures, employee benefits, compliance requirements, and total rewards communications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 6-10 years progressive experience in employer health and retirement benefits,  compensation, and wellness programs with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Ability to apply financial insights to compensation and benefits strategy.
• 6-10 years experience developing and delivering effective employee communications.  
• Experience leading the vision, strategy and execution of a modern and relevant employee wellness programs.
• Experience negotiating contracts, providing feedback, and ensuring agreements are executed appropriately.  
• Periodic RFPs w/ vendors.  
• Knowledge of employment laws, tax & regulatory requirements.
• Relevant bachelor's degree
